FAQ //

Good to know.

the questions people ask before they book.

Booking & prices

How do I book?

Send an enquiry through the Book page — a few lines is plenty. I’ll reply personally with ideas, availability and a written quote. A 30% deposit and a simple agreement then hold your date.

Are the prices on the Rates page final?

They’re estimates, so you can see where things land before we talk. Every booking is confirmed with a written quote, which only changes if what you ask for changes. See the Rates page.

When is the rest paid?

The 30% deposit holds your date. The balance is due one week before your shoot or wedding day.

What if we need to change the date or cancel?

Life happens. If you need to move your date, your deposit moves with you once, to any date I’m free within 12 months. If you cancel, the deposit isn’t refundable — it holds a date I’ve turned other people away for — but anything paid beyond it is refunded.

Do you travel?

Yes. Travel within 40 km of the Sydney CBD is included. Further afield — across NSW, interstate or overseas — is quoted with the booking.

How far ahead should we book?

For weddings, six to twelve months is ideal, especially for spring and summer Saturdays. Portrait, couple and family sessions usually need two to four weeks. Short notice? Ask — if the date is free, I’ll be there.

Weddings & celebrations

Do you photograph Indian and Pakistani weddings?

Yes — mehndi, sangeet, nikah, baraat, walima and reception, across one day or several. Each day is priced as a whole, and a single celebration can be booked on its own. I know the rhythm of these days and the family photos that matter, and I’ll plan the list with you beforehand.

Do you photograph other weddings too?

Of course — from getting ready to the last dance, in a church, a garden, a restaurant or a registry office. Weddings are priced by the hour, from six hours.

Can you cover just one event, like a mehndi or an engagement party?

Yes. A single celebration starts at three hours and can be extended on the day.

Will there be a second photographer?

One can be added for large weddings and multi-event celebrations, so both families and both sides of the room are covered. It’s an add-on on the Rates page.

Can we give you a list of family photos?

Please do. A short list of the groups you want — with a family member who knows everyone — makes the formal photos quick, so you get back to your guests.

Your photos

How many photos will we get?

Around 60–80 edited photos for every hour of a wedding, and 20–40 for portrait, couple and family sessions. I choose the best of every moment rather than every frame.

When will we get them?

Sessions within two weeks, single celebrations within three, and weddings within six weeks (six to eight for multi-day weddings). Express delivery within seven days can be added.

How do we receive them?

In a private online gallery with your own sign-in. You can heart your favourites, leave a note on any photo and download every photo at full size, in its original quality.

How long does the gallery stay online?

Your gallery stays online until the date I give you — usually 60 days. After that it’s deleted from my server for good, so please download everything you want to keep, and keep a copy somewhere safe.

Do you keep a backup?

Please treat your download as your copy: once your gallery’s end date passes, the photos are deleted from my server. Keep them in two places — your computer and a cloud service is plenty.

Are the downloads watermarked?

No. The photos you download are always clean — no watermark, no logo.

Can we have the unedited RAW files?

No — every photo you receive is carefully edited, and the RAW files aren’t part of the delivery.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes. A fine-art album can be added to any wedding, and prints of your favourites — or of my landscape work — are available on request.

Sessions

What should we wear?

Wear what feels like you. Solid colours and simple patterns photograph best; for couples and families, coordinate rather than match. You’re welcome to bring a second outfit.

Where do sessions take place?

Outdoors around Sydney — beaches, parks, the city or a place that means something to you — or at your home. I’ll suggest spots and the best time of day for the light.

What if it rains?

For outdoor sessions we’ll watch the forecast together, and if the weather turns against us we’ll move to another day at no cost.

Our children (or pets) don’t sit still — is that a problem?

Not at all. The best family photos happen in between the posed ones. We go at their pace, with breaks.

Privacy

Will you share our photos online?

Only with your permission. I’ll ask before any of your photos appear on my website or social media.

Do you keep my details?

Enquiries and registrations come straight to me by email — they aren’t stored on this website. Your private gallery is locked to your own sign-in, and it’s deleted after its end date.

Models & TFP

What is TFP?

“Time for prints”: we both give our time, and you receive edited photos for your portfolio. No fee either way.

How do I take part?

Register once on the Models page — it only takes a few minutes. When a shoot fits, I’ll get in touch with the idea and the date.

Do I need modelling experience?

No. New faces are very welcome — I’ll guide you through every shot.

Is there an agreement?

Yes. Every shoot has a simple written agreement, and you choose your selects in your own private gallery.

Kallos One

What is Kallos One?

A studio app I built for photographers like me — clients, bookings, agreements and sales in one calm place, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. See the Kallos One page.
